Most boilers require servicing annually to comply with the manufacturers warranty. We also recommend annual servicing to ensure your boiler is working efficiently and is safe. As part of the service a Gas Safe registered engineer will:
-
Inspect your boiler & controls to make sure they’re working
-
Inspect the main component parts of your boiler
-
Check your boiler for corrosion & leaks
-
Check the gas pressure
-
Test the flue to ensure it’s not emitting any unsafe fumes
-
Clean the parts to remove debris, if required.

If your boiler has stopped working, below are five initial checks you can make before contacting us. Watch a how-to video.

-
Test that your other gas appliances (fire, hob) are working, & whether the switches in your fuse box have tripped.
-
Have you had a power cut recently? If you have, your boiler’s timer might need resetting.
-
Check your boiler’s pressure gauge. If it’s showing a reading of one bar or less, you'll need to top it up. Watch a how-to-video.
-
Turn your room thermostat up. Having your thermostat set lower than 21 degrees can stop your heating from coming on.
-
Reset your boiler according to its instructions & check that its pilot light is on.

Boiler repair
"I contacted Master Plumb after a very strong recommendation from a friend. They fitted me in at short notice & kept me informed regarding arrival time. Karl, the engineer, diagnosed the issue, & confirmed his suspicion with the manufacturer. He then returned later the same day & got the boiler up & running. Karl is very pleasant & informative.
I wouldn't hesitate to use Master Plumb again."
